TapeCopy reads VMS BACKUP tapes and can restore the entire tape to Windows with appropriate file conversion. Alternately, files or directories may be selectively restored to Windows. There are 4 modes of operation:

• Scan mode scans a tape and shows which Backup savesets are on the tape.

• List mode reads each saveset on the tape and creates a listing file of the savesets. Files can be selected from the listing file and then restored from tape

• Copy mode copies the savesets from the tape and stores them on the Windows computer. Files can be restored directly from the saveset on disk without rereading the original tape.

• Restore mode restores files directly from savesets on tape or disk and converts the VMS file records to Windows file records.
